This year, as speaker of the Congress of the South 40 (CS40), (http://www.cs40.com) the university's residential hall association, she's spearheading several events in conjunction with the debate and the presidential election. She says, "We delivered voter registration packets to all the freshmen dorm rooms prior to orientation. We have also been actively working with the Student Union to build awareness on campus and have extensively supported the efforts of "Rock the Vote," recently distributing voting pins and agreeing to financial support for the Rock the Vote concert."
But CS40's biggest activity this election season is to bring Mo Rocca — the sattirist who was, until recently, the senior political correspondent for Comedy Central's Daily Show with Jon Stewart — to campus for a live simulcast during the debate. It won't be politics as usual, thanks to Matilsky and others in her South 40 family.
