Peter Wiedenbeck is an expert in the areas of federal income taxation and the regulation of employee benefit plans. He is the author of several articles and two casebooks, Cases and Materials on Employee Benefits and Cases and Materials on Partnership Taxation. Currently, he is writing a book on the policy basis of federal labor law regulation of employee pension and welfare benefit plans under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.

Sept. 19, 2006 -- A lead counsel in the Guantanamo Bay detainees U.S. Supreme Court case, an expert on pornography in feminism and law, and a Nobel Peace Prize nominee for his work in international criminal justice are part of the fall lineup for the School of Law's ninth annual Public Interest Law & Policy Speakers Series.

The Center for the Study of Ethics and Human Values at Washington University to host "An Ethics Forum for Tax Practitioners" Oct. 29 (http://news-info.wustl.edu/news/page/normal/4050.html)

Oct. 18, 2004 -- The Center for the Study of Ethics and Human Values, in conjunction with the John M. Olin School of Business and the School of Law at Washington University in St. Louis, will present a tax ethics forum on Oct. 29. "An Ethics Forum for Tax Practitioners" will be held from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, preceded by a continental breakfast at 7:45 a.m., at May Auditorium in John E. Simon Hall. Peter J. Wiedenbeck, the Joseph H. Zumbalen Professor of Law, and Nancy Pechloff, CPA, of the Olin School of Business will moderate the forum featuring five panelists.

Additional Background: Following law school Wiedenbeck practiced in Washington, D.C. with the firm of Patton, Boggs & Blow, specializing in matters involving federal tax legislation and tax policy. He began his teaching career in 1982 and has recieved several awards for outstanding classroom teaching.
