Ballet and modern dance will share the stage with Indian Bharata Natyam and multi-media work in Dance Close-Up, an intimate presentation of new and original choreography by faculty in the Dance Program Sept. 9-11.

Additional Background: O'Neal danced in the film Turning Point, performed as Kristine in A Chorus Line, toured with Dancers to Italy's Spoleto Festival, danced in a live telecast of Live from Lincoln Center featuring American Ballet Theater's Swan Lake, and won a bronze medal at the International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria. She has performed in the faculty concert, Dance Close-Up, and also choreographs for the annual Washington University Dance Theater.
O'Neal's choreography has also been seen in the department's productions of Cabaret, A Little Night Music, The Beggar's Opera, The Fantasticks, Company, Tartuffe, The Pirates of Penzance and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. She attended Smith College as an Ada Comstock Scholar graduating with a BA in theater. Her MA thesis from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, culminating with performances of As Is, a classical ballet, structured improvisation with the Webster Dance Theater at Webster University, St. Louis, was featured in the Summer/Fall 2001 edition of Contact Quarterly.
