Expertise: aging, Alzheimer's disease

Bio: Storandt's research deals with aging. A major goal is understanding the distinction between normal aging and Alzheimer's disease, especially the very early stages of the disease, and how each affects cognitive function. Most of her research involves administering standard and experimental psychometric tests to healthy older people as well as those with dementia. This work is done through the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. She is also interested in strategies healthy older people can use to compensate for age-related changes in memory.
