| La Pierre |
La Pierre's research and writing has focused on campaign finance reform, desegration and civil rights issues. He served as the special master in the St. Louis School desegregation case decided and managed by the United States District Court, Eastern District of Missouri. He wrote about his experiences in "Voluntary Interdistrict School Desegregation in St. Louis: The Special Master's Tale," Wisconsin Law Review (1987). His publications also include "Campaign Contribution Limits: Pandering To Public Fears of 'Big Money' and Protecting Incumbents, 52 Ad. L. Rev. 687 (2000); "Raising A New First Amendment Hurdle For Campaign Finance 'Reform,'"76 Washington University Law Quarterly 217 (1998); and "Enforcement of Judgments Against States and Local Governments: Judicial Control Over the Power to Tax," 61 G. Wash. L. Rev. 299 (1993).
