Bio: Bueno de Mesquita's research focuses on applications of game theory to a variety of political phenomena including terrorism and political violence, legislative and electoral institutions, the political economy of weakly institutionalized environments, and law and politics. His work has appeared in the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, International Organization, the Journal of Politics, and a variety of other scholarly journals. He has also served as a consultant on terrorism related issues to the United States Institute of Peace.

Help design a study (including a survey in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and Chicago) for a community development bank on why people in low-income neighborhoods use check cashing outlets, payday lenders, pawnshops, and other "fringe banks" rather than bank accounts.

Rabbis for Human Rights, Jerusalem, Israel. (academic year 1996 - 1997).
Established the first-ever monthly dialogue group between liberal and settler rabbis. Wrote articles and organized human rights projects in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The Ramla Peace Playground, Ramla, Israel. (academic year 1996- 1997).
Helped organize Ramla's Arab and Jewish communities to fund and build a playground in an integrated neighborhood.
