Renovated McDonnell Sciences Shell Café opens Aug. 13

Aug. 9, 2007 -- After a three-month renovation, the McDonnell Sciences Shell Café will reopen Monday, Aug. 13 at 10:30 a.m. with a new look and an updated menu.

The café will feature an abundance of new items, a new and renovated atmosphere and a friendly staff. Free samples from Coke and Nature Valley will be available Monday and Tuesday. Try your luck with a drawing for an autographed Cardinal baseball or free meals at the Shell Café.

Experience a little bit of Italy at the School of Medicine by trying out the new pizza oven. This station will feature old-world-style pizza, calzones, stromboli stuffed pizza and specialty melts. You can even order pizza to take to a meeting, a party or dinner at home.

The action station features a cook ready to make a meal to your specifications. Items featured include Tex-Mex, Asian and Italian entrees.

The entrée station features comfort food items with a twist. Check out the display that will house your favorite entrées, vegetables and starches.

A new grill will feature charbroiled burgers, a variety of sandwiches and daily grill specials. Breakfast will include omelets made to order, whole-grain pancakes and a myriad of items.

The kitchen has been remodeled to accommodate expanded catering needs from small to large events. All caterings are customized to fit your needs.
