I-64 Construction Update

New Alternate Route Maps to the Center for Advanced Medicine

All lanes of I-64 between I-170 and Kingshighway Blvd. are now closed. These lanes will remain closed until Dec. 31, 2009. Below are maps and driving directions to the medical campus during these closures.

For Patients Traveling from:

Traffic Impacts for Thursday, November 5, 2009

• From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. one lane southbound I-170 will be closed between the Galleria and Eager Road for girder painting. One lane of northbound I-170 will also be closed from Eager Road to the end of the northbound connector.

Traffic Impacts for Friday, November 6, 2009

• From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. one lane southbound I-170 will be closed between the Galleria and Eager Road for girder painting. One lane of northbound I-170 will also be closed from Eager Road to the end of the northbound connector.

Traffic Impacts for Saturday, November 7, 2009

• No traffic restrictions are currently scheduled.

These activities are subject to change due to weather, equipment breakdowns, or other unforeseen circumstances. For the most up-to-date project information, please visit www.thenewi64.org or call the infoline at 314-524-9191. Any scheduling updates will be posted there first.

This work is all part of a $420 million freeway reconstruction contract awarded to Gateway Constructors by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission in December. The project will completely reconstruct I-64 from west of Spoede Road to east of Kingshighway Boulevard, a distance of about 10 miles. It will create a freeway-to-freeway interchange at I-170; rebuild 29 bridges and all 12 interchanges. One lane will also be added in each direction from west of Spoede Road to I-170.

Travelers can get up-to-the-minute traffic information on interstates or major state routes by dialing 5-1-1 from most cell phones; if 5-1-1 isn't available from your carrier, please dial 877-478-5511 (877-4STL-511).
