WHAT: Community Fair — Go Glasgow! Throughout the day, come enjoy basketball, hot dogs, and face painting. Share in the Scottish past of Glasgow Village and the launching of community improvement planning.

WHEN: Saturday, May 13, 10 a.m.-2p.m.

Winners of the Go Glasgow! grade school drawing contest will be announced at noon. Students in K-6th grade submitted drawings of their ideas for the use of green spaces in Glasgow Village, a logo for the Village, or a welcome sign at the neighborhood entrance.

WHERE: Glasgow Elementary School Field- 10560 Renfrew Dr., 63137.

WHO: George Warren Brown School of Social Work students in Dr. Stephanie Boddie's community development class have been working with the St. Louis County Planning Department and the Glasgow Village Trustees to lay the groundwork for a Community Improvement District for unincorporated Glasgow Village.

COST: Free and open to all Glasgow Village residents

WHY:

• Glasgow Village Trustees and the Glasgow Village Improvement Association are spearheading a process for neighborhood transformation and community building in an effort to establish a Community Improvement District (CID). Glasgow Village would be one of only 2 Community Improvement Districts in St. Louis County. Unlike Robinhood West, the other St. Louis County CID, Glasgow Village has experienced great change over the last 10 years in terms of the race/ethnicity, age, family structure, and socioeconomic status of the residents. Acknowledging the diversity of the community and need for a new community strategies and governance, the Fair is the first of several events to get resident input, support and involvement.

• This semester's community development course at the School of Social Work is the foundation for continued collaboration with Glasgow Village.
