Corrections to article in The New York Times

Jan. 6, 2004 -- Two corrections ran in The New York Times in association with the Dec. 22, 2003 article titled "Secret of one college's success is aid for academic achievers".

The text of both corrections is below:

Dec. 24, 2003:
An article on Monday about the ways Washington University in St. Louis improved its ranking in the annual survey by U.S. News & World Report missstated the name of a graduate student from South Korea who said she was attracted by the high rank of its social work school. She is Yunkyung Jung, not Yun Kyung.

Dec. 30, 2003
An article on Dec. 22 about the ways Washington University in St. Louis improved its ranking in the annual survey by U.S. News & World Report referred imprecisely to the ratio of applicants to undergraduate openings. The university has 15 times as many applicants as it can enroll, not 15 times the number it can accept. (Its acceptance rate of 24 percent reflects the fact that not all accepted students choose to enroll.)
