147th Commencement video highlights

May 23, 2008 -- Washington University in St. Louis celebrated the 147th Commencement on Friday, May 16, 2008, in Brookings Quadrangle on the Danforth Campus.

A day to be remembered by all, 2,655 candidates took part in commencement, receiving 2,790 degrees, of which 1,507 were undergraduate and 1,283 were graduate and professional.

Other highlights from commencement include the conferring of six honorary degrees and a speech by MSNBC's Chris Matthews.

The video highlights from commencement are accompanied by the Washington University in St. Louis Alma Mater sung by Elizabeth Day, a 2008 recipient of a masters degree in music.
