| The 2004 U.S. Olympic Women's Marathon Trials began at Washington University's Francis Field on Sat., April 3 at 7:00 a.m. A total of 150 athletes entered the trials, which concluded just below the World's Fair Pavilion in Forest Park. |
Washington University in St. Louis will host a rededication of Francis Field at 5 p.m. June 16 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the 1904 Olympics held at the university and the Athens 2004 Olympic Torch Relay. While supplies last, those who attend the rededication ceremony will receive a Washington University Olympic memento created especially for the occasion. In addition, three-time Olympian and two-time World Cross Country Champion Craig Virgin will speak to Washington University sports clinic participants from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the WUSTL Field House.
